Special Bottlings

Doddie Weir, artwork by Orla Stevens.

During our first year in business we've made some brilliant friends already, which has led to some rather special bottlings!

2023 featured four of these single casks for some of our favourite retail partners and festivals, and there are plenty of exciting collaborations in the pipeline for 2024 too...

Working with Scottish artist, Orla Stevens, we've designed bespoke labels for all these bottlings.

The Keys Bar St Andrews

CAMERONBRIDGE 2006 | FINO SHERRY FINISH

As our absolute favourite establishment in St Andrews, it was a no-brainer when Marta, the manager of The Keys, asked us if we could provide a special bottling for the bar.

To provide their first ever exclusive bottling is special on so many levels for us.

Our late-founder Aedan was a regular customer of The Keys, and could often be found sniffing out the newest releases from distilleries and bottlers across Scotland from their bursting (and very well priced) gantry! He would have been extremely proud to have the Fib name on their first private bottling.

As a Fife business, like ourselves, we thought it would be fitting to bottle them some Fife-distilled whisky! What could be more suitable than a lovely single grain from Cameronbridge just over 18 miles down the road in Leven.

Originally purchased in an ex-peated cask providing just a hint of smoke, we've now finished this 18-year-old in Fino sherry for over a year, and it's absolutely delicious!

Why not visit for a wee dram?

Edinburgh's Whisky Festival 2024

My Name'5 Doddie Charity Bottling

PORT DUNDAS 2000 | SHERRY BUTT FINISH

After the success of the first Doddie bottling, we knew there had to be sequel!

Working with festival hosts Graham and Serena, we collaborated on this sherry-kissed Port Dundas exclusively for their second festival at SG Murrayfield, in partnership with My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

Born in year 2000, this Port Dundas cask marked the year Doddie pulled on the dark blue jersey of Scotland for the last time, so we thought it was pretty special.

With £3000 raised last year, and following the sale of these 128 bottles, you have now helped us raise a total of £6720 to help beat this monstrous disease into touch.

Thank you so much for your support!

Stonehouse Whisky Festival 2024

GLENGLASSAUGH 2014 | PORT + MOSCATEL SHERRY FINISH

It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate in creating the official festival bottling for the inaugural Stonehouse Whisky Festival!

Jock, Liam and the whole whisky club have been absolutely brilliant supporters of Fib right from the start, and without clubs like theirs wee independent bottlers like us wouldn't exist, so a massive thank you for their support.

Originally from the same single cask as our Fife Whisky Festival bottling earlier this year, we finished this second half of the cask in a beautifully fresh Moscatel sherry hogshead, for deliciously sweet finish to balance out the Port tannins.

The bandstand on the label depicts the famous Stonehouse Bandstand, moved to Alexander Hamilton Memorial Park in 1924 from Kelvingrove Park, where it was originally built for the Scottish Exhibition of Natural History, Art and Industry in 1911.

The Jar Troon 10th Birthday Bottling

GLENGLASSAUGH 2014 | MADEIRA CASK

David has been a brilliant ambassador for Fib Whisky in Ayrshire, so when he asked us to provide a 10-Year-Old whisky to celebrate 10 years of him and his father running The Jar in Troon, it was a no-brainer!

Fortunately we had one tasty Madeira cask which was laid-down the same summer the shop opened its doors, of which we drew just 79 bottles for this special occasion.

The artwork features a wee collage of Troon, focusing on the golf heritage of the town especially as the 2024 Open Championship is being at Royal Troon the same summer (for which I suspect we'll end up camping-out in The Jar!)

Thank you David for a great wee collaboration.

Fife Whisky Festival 2024

OFFICIAL FESTIVAL BOTTLING

GLENGLASSAUGH 2014 | PORT + SAUTERNES  FINISH

It was a special moment for us to provide the official bottling for the Fife Whisky Festival 2024.

As our home festival and the absolute favourite of our late founder Aedan, we think he would have been very proud of this achievement, so would like to thank Karen and Justine for inviting us to bottle this especially.

This Port Pipe was actually picked out by Aedan to feature in our regular "Before & After" finishing series, but after the second half was finished in Sauternes we couldn't resist using it for such a special occasion. We're pleased to say all the bottles went over the weekend, so congratulations if you managed to snaffle one!

Watch out for the original half of this cask, as we're giving this a wee finish too for another upcoming special bottling...

ROYAL BRACKLA 2008 | MUSCAT + FINO  FINISH

My Name'5 Doddie Charity Bottling

We were absolutely thrilled to provide the festival bottling for the inaugural Edinburgh’s Whisky Festival at SG Murrayfield, in partnership with My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

£30 from each of these 100 limited bottles was donated directly to the foundation started by the big man himself, to help find a cure for the monstrous disease that is MND. This totalled a £3000 donation, which is spectacular!

Whisky Indy Love Fest 2023

PORT DUNDAS 2000

Bottled for 2023's festival at the start of September in Newcastle, this Port Dundas refill hogshead was selected as the festival bottling during a blind NEWAS online tasting. For those who aren't familiar with this huge online whisky community, it's linked below!

Karl Glenn who founded the group and organised the festival has been a big supporter of Fib from the start, so it was a pleasure to organise this special festival bottling.

Lucky for you we actually have a few bottles left following the festival, which are available from our online shop above!

Spirit of Alba Festival 2023

ROYAL BRACKLA 2008 | MUSCAT FINISH

Spirit of Alba is an absolute gem of a whisky and spirits retailer, slap bang in the middle of Kirkintilloch, just north of Glasgow.

Working in partnership with Craig and Jim who run the shop we picked out this belter of a cask to celebrate the fourth edition of their whisky festival, the third anniversary of the shop, and the eighth anniversary of the business!

Craig even designed this beautiful label!

Head over to their website below to read the hardcore tasting notes, and to grab one of these 168 bottles before they're all gone...
